We started with a Yamaha XJ650 Maxium.

We bagan by stripping the bike down and sealing the Chrome fenders, the rear fender was shortened and new mounts made. Several brackets removed and the frame painted a Semi Gloss Black.

The tank was required a lot of smoothing and work. The front forks were rebuilt, shorter rear coil over shock and springs were added. New brakes front and rear. Both wheels requred serious work so they would reseal to the tires. Replaced the handle bars with a 32 inch drag bar, new levers for brakes and clutch. New clutch cable and throttle cable.

A new seat was added, a model A Ford tail light on a home made bracket. I got lucky and found a almost perfect Missouri 1982 license plate was found and used.

After everything was ready, we took the bike apart and my Son Troy painted it with Doodge Mango Tango.

The bike was a lot of fun to ride, even though it rode like a BRICK.

These are some of the bikes we had several years ago. Got the Honda 305 Scrambler in 1970-1971. Click here for pictures.
We got the 2002 Vulcan Classic 800CC from out friend Doug. The bike was a fantastic bike to get back into riding again. We enjoyed it but felt it was a little small for what we wanted. For some quick pictures click here.
We purchased the Vulcan Nomad 1600CC brand new. We added a number of accessories and dodads to the bike and we really enjoyed the bike. After a few years it was time to move to the Harley. I can never say anything negative about the Kawasaki, but I really wanted to go to the Harley. Click here for some pictures.

We traded the Kawasaki Nomad at St. Charles Harley-Davidson for a 2007 Harley Ultra Classic. We loved the Ultra better seating, radio, cruise control, and oh that beautiful Harley sound. Took the Harley on several long trips, circled the state of Missouri on mostly state hiways, road through 8 states and had a blast. A couple of years rode from St. louis to Memphis TN, my buddy wanted to go see Elvis. After a brief visit with Elvis (he wasn't actually there since he died several years earlier you know) we headed east over State Hiway 64, it was a great ride across Tennessee. We finished up on the Cherohala Skyway (Beyond Beautiful) and then the Tail of The Dragon.

We started riding with a super fun group known as the U-Turn Riders RC of St. Louis (The group is mostly dispanded).

The next big trip was to my daughters home in Castle Rock, CO. The bucket list item is to ride Pikes Peak. There was snow down to 9,000 feet and the road was closed. My daughters friends husband rides and was kind enough to take a day off from work and we rode to Boulder and then MT Evans, at 9,000 we hit ice and snow on the rodeway so that end our adventure.

Well I guess age finally won out. We traded the Ultra Classic for a 2012 Ultra Triglide with a 103 Cu IN engine. The Triglide has all of the same equipment as the Ultra Classic and REVERSE (gotta love that). We really enjoy the Triglide and it hopefully last until Janet and I agree it is time to stop. As all things do change we did sell the bike in October 2022.
